Making Well-Being More Accessible Through Better Me Connect

The 3rd Better Me Connect Workshop

Finding time to care for our bodies and minds is not always easy. For women balancing work, learning, and daily responsibilities, joining a gym or taking part in outdoor exercise may not always be realistic. Well-being support needs to fit into everyday life: it should be practical, affordable, and possible to continue in a small personal space.

On 20 September 2026, Pratthanadee Foundation hosted the third Better Me Connect session of the year, Yoga & Sound Therapy, facilitated by Kim Nicole Haddad. The session brought together 20 women connected to the Foundation’s learning and community programmes. They included current learners, one woman temporarily pausing her regular classes because of work commitments, and three former learners who had not attended regular classes for several years—one since 2019 and two since 2023.

The return of these former learners was a meaningful reminder that a learning community can continue to matter even after regular classes have ended. Better Me Connect gives women an opportunity to reconnect with the Foundation, meet other women, and take part in activities that support their well-being at different stages of their lives.

🍃 A Space to Pause and Reconnect

Rather than being an intensive fitness class, the session offered a gentle and reflective approach to well-being. Participants explored grounding, mindful breathing, body awareness, guided reflection, paired listening and conversation, and live sound therapy using a sound bowl.

The activity encouraged participants to step away from daily pressures and pay attention to their bodies, emotions, and thoughts. The live sound therapy created a calming atmosphere, while the breathing and grounding practices helped participants slow down and reconnect with themselves.

One participant shared:

While meditating, I felt very peaceful and felt that I was able to be with myself.

Even though it was a short time, I felt a special kind of energy.

— Feedback from participant

For women who may have limited time, restricted access to outdoor exercise, or difficulty affording gym memberships, these simple practices can offer an accessible way to support physical and emotional well-being without costly equipment or a large space.

📝 What Participants Took Away

Participants valued not only the experience during the session, but also the possibility of continuing what they had learned at home. One participant explained:

I gained knowledge that I can build on at home

including breathing practice, appreciating myself, and managing stress and my emotions.

— Feedback from participant

The evaluation results also reflected the positive experience. All participants gave positive ratings for the safety and friendliness of the environment and for their overall satisfaction. Ninety-five percent felt that they had gained new skills or experiences, while the same proportion felt that the session helped strengthen relationships and friendships. Applicability in daily life received a positive rating of 85%, showing that most participants saw value in the practices beyond the activity itself.

This result also points to an opportunity for future sessions: providing a short take-home guide or routine could make it easier for participants to continue practising breathing, grounding, and relaxation in their everyday lives.

✨ Keeping the Connection Open

Participants described the session as relaxing, enjoyable, and beneficial for their health, concentration, and self-awareness. They also expressed interest in joining similar activities more often and requested additional yoga or stretching in future sessions.

Better Me Connect is part of Pratthanadee Foundation’s effort to create supportive spaces where women can continue learning, care for their well-being, and remain connected to one another. The Yoga & Sound Therapy session showed that meaningful well-being support does not always require a gym, specialised equipment, or a large investment. With simple practices and a welcoming community, women can begin to build small moments of care into their everyday lives.
