Volunteering at PND: A 4-Month Commitment to Meaningful Impact
Before You Apply
This opportunity is a good fit if you:
- Can commit to a weekly 3-hour session for 3–4 months
- Are currently based in Thailand and available for in-person sessions
- Are comfortable working within a structured program
This opportunity is not a fit if you are:
- Visiting Thailand short-term
- Looking for a one-time or flexible volunteer experience
- Unable to commit to a consistent weekly schedule
Volunteering at PND is built around consistency.
At PND, you won’t just teach. You’ll connect, mentor, and grow alongside the women and girls we serve. Whether you’re leading a classroom session, supporting a staff project, or offering your professional skills, your time with us contributes to long-term impact through consistent participation.
Our participants show up every week, often on their only day off, to build skills and take control of their futures. And when volunteers show up, they notice. The gratitude is real, as is the impact: you’ll be helping participants gain knowledge, confidence, and practical tools they can use immediately to brighten their lives.
We offer opportunities for both Thai- and English-speaking volunteers. Most volunteer roles are based in Bangkok, but remote support roles may also be available. Whether you teach a class or support behind the scenes, placements are based on current program needs and availability.
The students are very appreciative of the time spent to teach and help them.— Allen CooperLittle do they know how much of a lift it gives us!"

From classroom moments to heartfelt reflections, these photos and testimonials show what it means to be part of the PND volunteer community.
What to Expect Before You Apply
To ensure a meaningful experience for both volunteers and participants, we ask all applicants to understand the following:
What to Expect
- A consistent weekly 3-hour session commitment
- A structured program with defined curriculum and facilitation approach
- An initial review of your CV or LinkedIn profile, an invitation to visit our office, classroom observation, and a trial teaching session before placement if selected as a regular volunteer
Minimum Requirements
- Commitment of at least 3–4 months for teaching roles
- Ability to attend sessions in person in Bangkok
- Willingness to follow program structure and guidance from staff
Additional Considerations
- We currently have a waiting list, and placement is not guaranteed
- The recruitment process may take 2–3 months depending on availability
- We are unable to provide financial support (housing, transport, visa assistance)
Role-Specific Notes
English Teaching Volunteers
- Commitment to weekly 3-hour sessions over a 3-4 month period.
- Placement based on program schedule and current needs
Buddy (Mentor) Role
Volunteers act as supportive peers, listening and providing emotional support when learners wish to talk through personal challenges. This is not a short-term or observational role.
- Thai language proficiency required
- Currently open to Thai nationals only
Our programs are designed for long-term impact. Many participants attend consistently over several months, often on their only day off. We look for volunteers who can match that level of commitment.
